After nearly 100 hours without power, citizens in Maracaibo, Venezuela, looted food, water, and other items from supermarkets and malls on March 11, according to reports. This video shows the aftermath at Centro Comercial Ciudad Chinita on March 12. Twitter user @Angelines2104, who filmed this video, said, “I have no words to express what I feel when I see the shopping center where my mother has worked all her life, putting together her business from nothing, looted.” In another tweet, she said, “The looting in Maracaibo continues and there is no one to do anything about it. This town’s going to be ruined and there’s no way its getting up again.” News reports and video shared on social media showed damage to shopfronts and broken glass at Maracaibo Sambil Mall and CIMA Maracaibo Mall.
