Cardinal George Pell will face sentencing on Wednesday inside Melbourne's County Court after being found guilty of child sexual abuse. The sentencing for the 77-year-old will be handed down by Chief Judge Peter Kidd and broadcast across the world. The Cardinal is facing a maximum sentence of 50 years in jail, though due to age, health and prospects of rehabilitation, the end sentence will likely be lower. Pell was found guilty on five counts of historical child sexual assault in December last year. He has strenuously denied all allegations and has lodged an appeal against his conviction.
