The Bundesliga is out of the Champions League, eliminated by the very competition that it is using as a benchmark. Borussia Dortmund, against Tottenham, Schalke, against Manchester City and even Bayern Munich, against Liverpool, were all eliminated in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
