COLUMBUS — When the final phase of the Ohio white-tailed deer hunting season closed last month, there were many ways to interpret the results. Through the more than four-month-long archery season, and the shorter two-part gun season, the muzzleloader season, plus the special youth-only hunt, there were 172,040 deer harvested in the state.
