1,360 kg drugs seized in eight months in Dhading

Police have seized 1,360 kilograms illicit drugs from different places of Dhading in the last eight months of this fiscal.

According to District Police Office, Dhading, police have arrested 36 persons with marijuana, hashish and nitrovet, among other drugs, in the fiscal 2018-19. Police seized 650 kg marijuana, 710 kg hashish and nitrovet, among other banned drugs. Police said they had long been involved in a crusade to curb drugs smuggling after it increased in the district.

SP Raj Kumar Baidabar of Dhading District Police Office said police had launched special operation and held those involved in smuggling along the highway and its surroundings. Police are investigating to arrest the main smugglers as the arrested were local porters.
