Milpitas community briefs for the week of March 22
Budget meeting rescheduled
A community meeting on Milpitas’ annual budget has been moved from March 18 to March 28, 6:30-8 p.m. at Sinnott Elementary School, 2025 Yellowstone Ave. At the meeting, participants will learn more about the where and how city funds are used and provide input on what services should have priority in the next year.
A second community meeting is planned for April 8, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Barbara Lee Senior Center, rooms 140 and 141, 40 N. Milpitas Blvd.
Enlightening lectures
Swami Mukundananda Ji will host lectures on “Devotion: The Greatest Ideal and Highest Power” April 6-12 at Veda Temple, 475 Los Coches St. The free sessions run 6:30-8:30 p.m. To register, visit https://www.jkyog.org/events. For more information, call 510-364-2640.
Legislative update
State Assembly Member Kansen Chu will provide an update on the legislative year April 6 at the Milpitas Community Breakfast, hosted by the Sunnyhills Neighborhood Association and the Sunnyhills United Methodist Church. The free breakfast will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. in Jones Hall at the church, 355 Dixon Road. Donations will be accepted.
