Opening Day Traditions

I moved here full time from Louisiana in 2007. I had attended games of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays before as a summer intern and the same week I arrived to the area full time I purchased the rest of the season and have maintained full season tickets ever since. 2008 was my first Opening Day. This is a holiday on par with Christmas and Thanksgiving. Typically I arrive the moment they'll let me in the parking lot and begin pregaming with a grill and a few beverages.

The moment the schedule is released I post my absence on the vacation board at work.
