Two charged after drug raid in Overbrook
A man and woman face drug charges after Ottawa police raided a home in Overbrook that is locally known for drug deals.
Officers arrested the pair as they were leaving a home near the east end of Prince Albert Street. They were found in possession of crack cocaine and cash.
That led to a raid with a warrant. Police had received past reports of drug trafficking, drug consumption and disturbances at the home.
They arrested two men who were found inside, but later released them without charges. However the man and woman arrested earlier are facing charges of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
The man is also facing a charge of breach of probation.
The investigation is one of several underway at “problem addresses” in Overbrook and Vanier.
