Ok, ready? Here goes...

Firstly, a small dent about 3/8” diameter or so, and a mil or two deep. It’s approximately midway along the top tube and shows up as a dark spot in a close up photo. Just a smooth shallow divot that’s easy to miss.

Nextly, you’ll notice some ugly chainring scars on the drive side stay. Some one sure had a hard time setting this bike up successfully. Sand paper and primer filler should do the trick.

And the rear derailleur bottom bracket cable guide looks like it got slightly mangled at some point. It had a sharp snag of metal pointing upwards which cut my finger when cleaning the frame. I’ve since filed it smooth. However, a small tear remains (shown in a close up photo) which could be a concern regarding smooth cable movement and/or early cable wear. Something I think you’d want to address. I’d probably just file the lip of the guide back a bit myself. And I’m happy to do that for you if you’d like. I’ll leave it for you to decide what to do.

What else? Aside from nicks, scratches, and some staining in the paint here and there, there is also the obvious lack of decals. Well, there is a Colorado bike registration sticker below the downtube, does that count? But that’s about it. The frame is a little beat up, but there’s no concerning rust, and no structural damage that I can detect.

The front brake hanger was missing when I acquired the frame. I can supply a spacer if needed. Though, honestly the headset while definitely serviceable, is a bit worn looking so you might just look for a replacement. On that note I’ve tossed all the caged bearings for the HS and BB since they looked toasted. The rear hanger is gone. I used it as trade material for some much needed derailleurs towards another frame I’m building. Luckily the Lambert seat post binder, crank bolts, and downtube levers are still survived. That’d be all of the original components that the bike came to me with.

I purchased this frame solely to use its crankset on another bike. It wore a genuine TA Pro-5 Vis set up with triple chainrings. While I’m keeping the crankset, I am included with the bottom bracket which came with it, though it’s not likely original. As far as I can tell it’s Italian threaded, perhaps an aftermarket conversion. I’m told that was common practice when the press fit units failed. The cups are pretty worn with some pitting. Italian length 70 mm spindle is good shape. There’s a bizarre rubber sleeve of some kind inside the shell. Maybe something to do with the original OEM press fit bottom bracket? I’ve left it in, as there seemed no reason not to.

Wow! That’s a lot of information. More than you cared for. But this bike is odd, it’s strange, and it’s a hot mess. It’s interesting. And I couldn’t honestly describe it any other way than thoroughly. But there is one more important point to make, and that is that this frame has the...

Steel crown fork. Which of course means that it is safe to ride! :)

And a cool ride it’d make. Don’t ya think?

Hard to put a price on this one as there isn’t much to reference to accordingly. I’m open to offers, but in the mean time I’ll set an asking price of...
