Prisoner stopped from harming himself in lock-up

A 19-year-old Maltese man was stopped from harming himself while he was being held in custody at the police headquarters.

The police managed to stop him in time but the man was sent to Mater Dei as a precaution.

The incident took place at 7pm on Monday.
