Just Cancelled an Order with Amain (Performance/Nashbar)
I just cancelled an order with A-Main Cycling. These is the same company which now owns Performance and Nashbar.
Product said "Usually ships within two or three days."
Maybe I was naive but it didn't say that the product was backordered or not in stock or give any indication that the product was not available.
The confirmation email came three days later and said, "In stock in supply chain - arriving soon." I called to find out what "Arriving soon" means and waited on hold for 45 minutes.
While on hold I logged into the website and saw that the order was able to be cancelled. To their credit, it was easy to cancel and I have placed several small parts orders successfully from them in the past.
This was a $200 order however, and I have a low tolerance for games. If the product isn't in stock then say so. If the product will drop ship then say so. Shoot straight and I'll be a customer for life. Play games and I'll become an evangelist against you. Leaving the customer on hold for 45 minutes is a non starter.
The product was ordered through the manufacturer for $15 more. Four day shipping from Germany included.
