MTB conversion help
My son has recently expressed an interest in bike packing, he is 15 and currently planning a fall trip to the Chequamegon for us in the fall. We are both experienced backpackers and have spent quite some time in the backcountry, so gear and skills are not really an issue. I have been a causal bike rider and still own a mid to late 1990's Trek 920 single track. I'm guessing on the date. Before this trip came up I have been experiencing hand discomfort while riding around town and often wondered about different bars. I then stumbled across this site and found a lot of good conversion ideas and thought of doing the same. I figures I'd start out with ordering a new stem and bars. I believe I have picked out the stem based on a conversion I saw here; a Sunlite Alloy 2 bolt quill stem, 180 x 22.2 x 80mm. I guess my first question is any suggestions on bars and what will fit on this stem? Im 6'2 210. There are so many different sizes I was trying to find one that will fit the stem and my body type. Help me build my conversion.
Thanks!
