[Baseball] Cuomo Nabs AAC Pitcher of the Week
DAYTON, Tenn. – On Monday, the league released the fourth edition of the Appalachian Athletic Conference weekly awards for baseball, and helping the 14th-ranked Bryan College squad nab their first AAC Pitcher of the Week honor this season is Joseph Cuomo (SO/Canton, Ga.), a sophomore from Canton, Ga. The right-handed hurler was recognized for his efforts from March 11-16 where he played a major role in shutting down rival No. 2 Tennessee Wesleyan University in the series opener, where Bryan went on to upset the Bulldogs and take the series 2-1. On the week, the Lions also avoided the sweep in the series finale with Truett McConnell University (Ga.) before falling in a non-conference bout with No. 4 Georgia Gwinnett College. The Lions battled for a 3-2 record on the week despite the lineup of ranked challengers, improving to 18-8 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
