Maidstone United vs. Ebbsfleet United

0

It’s the second Kent derby of the week, as the Stones host Ebbsfleet United at the Gallagher Stadium this afternoon.

Both sides have seen managerial changes this season but since appointing Garry Hill, the Fleet’s fortunes have turned around and they have an outside chance of making the play-offs.

Ebbsfleet are currently in 10th place and are six points behind Eastleigh who occupy the final play-off position. Ahead of the Fleet are Sutton and Gateshead but those teams have played a game more.

The Fleet are hitting form as well and are currently in seventh place in the form table having lost just once in their last six matches which was against Salford who are also chasing promotion.

During that time Ebbsfleet have beaten Harrogate, Maidenhead United and Boreham Wood.

The Stones are still deep inside the relegation zone and are now 14 points behind Dover Athletic who in turn are five points clear of Havant and Waterlooville who occupy the final relegation spot.

Maidstone briefly rallied two weeks ago when they beat Havant 2-0 but defeats against Eastleigh and Wrexham mean that the Stones are bottom of the form table having collected just four points from their last ten matches.
