Police remind drivers some roads closed for Limassol marathon

Police reminded drivers on Saturday morning that there would be road closures during the Opap Limassol marathon which is taking place this weekend.

On Saturday the coastal road was closed to traffic from 8am until noon, from the junction of October 28 Street and Grivas Dighenis Street.

The entire coastal road will be closed to traffic on Sunday between 6am and 2pm. The road will gradually open to traffic depending on the course of the runners.

The 42-kilometre International Marathon will start at 7.30am on Sunday at the area of Epihosi (Molos) and runners will follow a loop route and will finish at the same area.

They will pass through the coastal road to Franklin Roosevelt Avenue, pass through the roundabouts of the new port and Lady’s Mile and in front of My Mall, head toward Asomatos village up to the junction with the water park and head back toward Epihosi.

Police urge drivers to be especially careful, follow traffic signs and police instruction.
