Alphamega’s Run As One Marathon set for October

With the Limassol Marathon this weekend and the Medochemie Marathon in Nicosia last month, as well as a running event that crossed Mitsero, it’s running season on the island. Paphos had its share of marathons as well this week with the 21st Logicom Cyprus Marathon. There’s one other big marathon to come but that won’t be until after the summer, just before the weather starts to get chilly again.

For the fourth consecutive year, Alphamega Supermarkets invite the public to run for children and have fun. The date for the Alphamega Run As One 2019 has been set as October 20 and Engomi’s store is ready to welcome runners, children, parents, supporters and all those who want to live the experience to a fun running event in Nicosia.

Each year thousands of participants take to the streets to be part of the Run As One race and assist Alphamega’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme Child, Nutrition and Health. This action is carried out in collaboration with the Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists of Cyprus to inform and sensitise young people and adults for the benefits of balanced nutrition and regular exercise.

All proceeds from the entries will be put to create free personalised diet plans for children aged 9-12, based on their individual needs. Yet above all, Run As One aims to be a fun and exciting day out for all, promoting wellbeing and exercise. A ‘fun park’ is set up every year the supermarket in Nicosia with activities for the whole family.

Celebrities from the world of sport and entertainment will be present to support the initiative and chat with the participants and guests.
