Chinese Consulate General, Kol Zha Liyou, on Saturday said that initiating a people-to-people exchange mechanism will help in strengthening bilateral relations between India and China.While addressing an event focused on India-China bilateral relationship, Liyou told ANI: "In order to strengthen the ties we need to start with people-to-people exchange, because, without such a mechanism, people of both countries would neither understand each other nor will be able to work accordingly," Liyou said."For example, Indians would not understand the Chinese way of doing business," he added.External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi co-chaired the first-ever meeting of India-China High-Level Mechanism on Cultural and People-to-People Exchanges in December 2018.
