Two dead as firefighters battle blazes in three homes across Quebec
Two people died early Saturday morning after a fire broke out in their home in the Beauce region of Quebec. Firefighters discovered two bodies when they entered the home.
The bodies have been sent to Quebec’s forensic science laboratory in Montreal for autopsies. The cause of the fire is under investigation by provincial police.
Firefighters were also busy in Pont-Rouge, southwest of Quebec City, on Saturday morning. A fire started in a residential home just after 8 a.m. One woman escaped but police fear someone else may have been trapped inside.
Police say they’re trying to locate two people who are missing after fire destroyed a home on René-Lévesque Blvd. in Saint-Eustache Friday morning.
The Red Cross is providing assistance to the victims.
