A listed militant of the National Liberation Force of Tripura (NLFT) (Biswa Mohan faction) decamped from Bangladesh and surrendered before the Border Security Force (BSF) at Ambassa in remote Dhalai district of Tripura on Saturday.The militant has been identified as Sachindra Reang (47), a resident of North Tripura.BSF in a statement said that it 'appreciated and welcomed' the returnee for denouncing violence and returning to normal life.Reang claimed that he was operating from Segunbagan base camp of the NLFT in Chittagong Hill Tract (CHT) in Bangladesh and was the commander there.He informed that life is very tough in the camps and a lot of suffering as the inmates don't even get any medicines when ill."According to the surrendered militant, the inmates are now engaged for slash and burn (jhum) cultivation there.
