[Baseball] Master's Wins Both against Hawks
LAKESIDE, Calif. — Tyler Schindel hit a 2-run homer in the bottom of the ninth in Game 1 forcing extra innings but the Hawks fell in both games to The Master's.
SDC dropped the first game 7-6 in 10 innings before falling in Game 2 10-2.
The losses drop the Hawks to 7-22 on the season and 2-16 in conference play.
After a solo homer from The Master's in the first inning, Kennedy Chun hit a sac fly, scoring Sebastian Yasuda for the 1-1 tie after one inning.
TMU added three runs in the second inning before Ryan Culp hit an RBI double scoring Schindel. Schindel hit a sac fly in the seventh cutting the deficit to one.
In the eighth, TMU added a bases-loaded walk to increase their lead to 7-5. With one out in the ninth, Yasuda drew a walk before Schindel went deep, tying the game.
Three batters later, the Mustangs scored the eventual winning run.
Game 2 was all Mustangs as they jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings and increased the lead to 9-0 in the fourth. Mario Morales collected an RBI single, scoring Joel Pedretti.
In the seventh, Schindel was at it again, this time a double down the right-field line scoring Yasuda. Schindel finished the day with four hits, four RBI, a homer and two runs.
SDC and TMU will finish their 4-game series tomorrow at Barona Stars Field starting at 11 a.m.
