[Women's Lacrosse] Fox records hat trick against St. Andrews

BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C.Taylor Fox posted a hat trick Saturday afternoon as women's lacrosse faced Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent (RV) St. Andrews University at Pulliam Stadium, falling 16-3.

"This game helped us learn the value of aggression on both the defensive and offensive ends of the field. We have the skill, but we just need to gain the confidence to finish on the offensive end," said head coach Kylie McMinn. "We're looking forward to playing St. Andrews next year."

The Cavs notched their first goal of the game at 10:44 in the first half when Taylor Fox netted one off of a feed from Amaraya Donaldson.

Fox would score her second goal on a free position at 18:06 in the second half before completing her hat trick unassisted at 11:13. She also led her squad with nine ground balls and four draw controls.

Kyndell Esposito was close behind with five ground balls of her own beside her pair of shots and draw controls.

Liz Guzman and Chelsea Garrison each picked up three ground balls, while Donaldson also picked up a pair in addition to her assist in the game.

Mia Moize and Daniela Melendez combined for 21 total saves in goal with 13 and eight, respectively.
