Liverpool could lose highly-rated defender Conor Masterson to Norwich as Championship leaders line up free transfer

LIVERPOOL centre-back Conor Masterson is a target for Norwich’s plans in the Premier League.

The Championship leaders want to sign the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.

And he is available on a free transfer this summer.

Canaries boss Daniel Farke is looking to secure automatic promotion.

And he will look to bolster his squad for the top-flight, with Masterson firmly in his sights.

The 20-year-old has been on the bench for first-team matches, including last season’s Champions League triumph against Manchester City.

He has been a regular for the Under-23s.

But he could be tempted by the opportunity to kick-start his senior career at Carrow Road.

Masterson has been at Anfield for five years and received his Ireland Under-21 call-up this month from boss Stephen Kenny.

But he is out of contract at the end of the season and could move to another club for training compensation.

Championship leaders Norwich could take another huge step towards promotion on Saturday.

They travel to Middlesbrough in the teatime kick-off looking to maintain their four-point lead over Sheffield United.

The Blades play earlier in the afternoon when Bristol City make the trip to South Yorkshire.
