Loaded handgun found as police arrest 31-year-old suspect
A 31-year-old Ottawa man was arrested and a loaded handgun was seized in the city’s south end early Thursday after patrol officers spotted a vehicle that had recently fled a traffic stop.
When officers ran the plates on the vehicle seen at Bank Street and Albion Road, they found it was registered to a man sought on a Quebec arrest warrant.
Police were able to block the vehicle and Christopher Lee-Jones was arrested without incident.
Police said they found a loaded handgun in the car, along with an unspecified amount of drugs.
Lee-Jones was to appear in court Thursday on eight weapons charges. He also faces drug charges including trafficking.
