Arsenal star Torreira holds up emotional t-shirt tribute to friend Rafita saying ‘we miss you’
LUCAS TORREIRA appeared to dedicate his third Arsenal goal to a friend – and could have evaded a Uefa rap.
The midfielder, 23, scored the Gunners’ second against Napoli tonight, dispossessing Fabian Ruiz, turning him inside out and then seeing his effort deflect off Kalidou Koulibaly.
But immediately after the ball hit Alex Meret’s net, Torreira pointed to the Arsenal dugout and ran over.
He was thrown a t-shirt and he held it up to the camera showing him and a friend holding up his Sampdoria No34 shirt.
The shirt read: “We love and miss you, Rafita.”
If Torreira had been wearing the shirt underneath and taken his top off to reveal it, he would have been booked under Law 4 Section 5.
The rule says: “Equipment must not have any political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images.
“Players must not reveal undergarments that show political, religious, personal slogans, statements or images, or advertising other than the manufacturer’s logo.”
