[Softball] Viking Softball Re-Enters Top 25 Rankings

Kansas City, MO - Grand View softball has re-entered the Top 25 NAIA National Rankings at No. 24 announced the National Office. 

The Vikings currently hold a 13 game winning streak following their 6-5 victory over Mount Mercy Wednesday evening. Grand VIew has played their last 13 game homes, remaining undefeated on their home turf in the 2019 season. 

Grand View holds a 23-5 over record, .821 winning percentage on the season.  Collectively the Vikings rank fourth nationally in doubles per game, averaging 2.286. They also rank fourth in home runs, averaging 1.250 per game. 

Three Vikings hold a 1.00 fielding percentage, Lexi Merrit, Kaylee Watson (SO/Stockport, IA), Ali Woodward (SO/Brandon, SD), and Alyx Witt (FR/Norwalk, IA). Alyx Witt averages .429 home runs a game, fourth in the nation. She also records 12 home runs on the season that ranks fourth nationally. 

Grand View is in action next today as they travel to Oskaloosa, IA to take on William Penn University starting at 4:30 p.m. The Vikings will be on the road Saturday, April 11, again where they will finish the suspended game from April 10 and then continue to play at doubleheader. The action starts at 11 a.m. Saturday.
