Evretou dam overflows

Evretou dam, the island’s third largest water reservoir, began overflowing on Thursday afternoon.

Dozens had flocked to the site earlier in the day, in anticipation of the event.

It is the second time that Evretou overflowed, the first time being in 2012.

Located in the Paphos district, the dam was built in the mid-1980s. Its capacity is 24 million cubic metres.
