Yatsenyuk urges NATO to give Ukraine action plan for membership

Former Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of the Peoples Front Party Arseniy Yatsenyuk calls on NATO member countries to provide Ukraine with an action plan for membership in the alliance (MAP).

“I appeal to the Alliance member countries: show political will, show determination, show the world that we are together … Give Ukraine a plan of action regarding NATO membership, so that another country, powerful, strong, that has proven it is able to struggle, become a member of the strongest military-political alliance that protects democracy and freedom,” said Yatsenyuk at the twelfth Kyiv Security Forum, organized by Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Foundation “Open Ukraine” in Kyiv on April 11.

Yatsenyuk also recalled that integration into the EU, as well as membership in NATO, are the priorities of Ukraine and this is enshrined in the Constitution. “No one will ever change this course under any circumstances, and membership in the European Union is the next step on our agenda,” he added.

The politician also called on EU members to document that Europe wants to see Ukraine in its composition. “Dear friends and partners from the European Union, put down very simply: Europe recognizes and wants to see Ukraine as a member of the European Union. That’s the agenda that needs to be done,” Yatsenyuk said.
