Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan, together with U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation Acting President and CEO David Bohigian, met on April 10 with senior financial sector executives. Ernesto Pernia, Philippines’ Secretary of Socio-Economic Planning, and other U.S. government officials also participated in the roundtable. The group discussed the President’s vision of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific region, the launch of the U.S. Development Finance Corporation targeted for October 2019, and important steps the Administration is taking to catalyze U.S. private sector participation in the region’s economic development, including in energy, high technology, and infrastructure.
