Lomachenko, who has battled a shoulder injury returned to the ring in December adding the WBO title by beating Jose Pedraza, with two knockdowns in the 11th round. Tonight he will be defending both the WBA and WBO belt against Anthony Crolla, the former WBA champion. Crolla lost the title to Jorge Linares back in 2016 and lost the rematch as well.
Lomachenko took the WBA belt off of Linares at MSG in 2018 via KO, tonight the underdog, Crolla has a shot at both belts. He has won the last three of his fights against Ricky Burns, Edson Ramirez, and David Yordan which has put him back into world title contention.
Tonight will be an exciting bout, with Lomachenko checking in with only one loss coming from the hands of Orlando Salido, we’ll see if Crolla is capable of joining the elite and regaining his WBA title and adding the WBO title as well.
