Shark resembling ‘miniature version of Jaws’ washes up on UK beach

0

A shark is the last thing a dog walker expected to see during a stroll on the beach.

Sean Hall, 49, found the two and half foot shark lying on Pakefield beach, in Suffolk, on Friday at around 7.45pm.

He had been walking his dog Dave when he stumbled across the creature, which had jagged sharp teeth and black bulging eyes.

Business manager Mr Hall posted a picture of the shark on Facebook and wrote: ‘It was like a miniature version of Jaws, like a mini great white.

He said he also spotted a porpoise on the beach last year and a seal last week but was not expecting to see a shark.

Sadly the shark was dead but the dog walker still decided to push it back into the water to save it from being eaten by dogs.

He added: ‘My first thoughts were how sad, and if it had only just washed up whether I could I put it back in the water and it would miraculously swim away.’

Mr Hall also reassured people the shark was not dangerous and said experts believed it to be a porbeagle.

This is a species of mackerel shark which are commonly found in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Mr Hall said: ‘You hear about these things where something is “found by a man out walking his dog” and it’s so true.’
