Clive teaches his daughter to pull-a-train....
Sunday Cinema,' throw another shovelful into the firebox....' it starts off with one of the last remaining Q1's - an Austerity locomotive built during the war - affectionately (or some would say derogatory) called 'Coffee Pots because of the angular construction to save metal so guns bullets and planes can be made instead... Clive Groom has been a railway man all his life and now he teaches people (for a living) to drive the locomotives on preserved lines up and down the country...his two daughters are now certified engine-men in their own right having acquired their ticket to drive the monsters!
(triv; there was often a good hearted rivalry between the Driving Crews from particular regions, the Cockneys were always disliked cus they were Cockneys (Landaners) and thought they always knew best, the Newton Abbot men from down Devon way (yokels with a spike of hay in their caps), the northerners...who always had a tab on and could work in sub-zero temperatures in just a wife-beater and knotted handkerchief on their heads... not for them the soft southern practices of coats and gloves :-)
...they were the days!
