Woman told police crystal meth they found in her purse was ‘healing crystals’

A woman tried to explain to police that the crystal meth shards officers discovered in her purse were actually ‘healing crystals.’

Cactus Calderas, 43, was stopped by cops while driving in Friendswood, Texas after she changed lanes without a signal.

Officers asked to search her car and she reluctantly granted them permission before claiming the drugs were actually stones for spiritual wellness.

Police said Calderas appeared nervous before granting them permission to search her car, according to ABC 13.

Officers eventually focused in on her purse, which was where they reportedly found the crystal methamphetamine, a butane lighter, and a small pipe.

Calderas was arrested after officers did not believe her far-fetched explanation.

Crystal healing is a popular alternative medical technique that uses crystals or gems to draw negative disease-causing energy out of the body, according to Live Science.

Crystal methamphetamine, however, is a highly addictive synthetic psychostimulant made by combining over-the-counter drugs with toxic substances.

Police in Friendswood deduced that the glass-like shards in Calderas’s purse were the latter and charged her with possession of a controlled substance.

Calderas has been arrested twice before for driving while intoxicated in February 2009 and November 2010.

She was found guilty on both charges.
