Researchers at the University of Warwick saw a giant explosion on Jupiter-sized star ten times more powerful than ever seen on our Sun. It's a warning about our sun's activity, but it's also possible that a "superflare" could help life develop on planets orbiting brown dwarf stars in our Milky Way.
