Tim Anderson The New Soul of the Sox
Every group or team needs a leader. Somebody to set the tone. Somebody to lead the charge. Somebody that can inspire.
For the Sox of today and maybe tomorrow, that emerging leader appears to be Tim Anderson.
This guy cares. This guy is clearly working to be one of the best shortstops in baseball. He may soon find his place among the greatest shortstops the White Sox have ever had.
Yes, he has to learn to channel his passion the right way. He can’t be hot-heated or simply emotional. He needs to be passionate under control.
Abreu is clearly the leader among the Sox Latino players. That’s needed, too. But Jose has a different personality from Tim. He leads more by example. Moncada seems to have a quiet personality. Eloy has great energy and a great smile. And a serious bat.
But Tim leads with his heart. And his athletic glove and quick bat. And happy feet.
Whatever the Sox do during this so-called rebuild, Timothy Devon Anderson clearly seems to be on a solid uptrack. He signed a big contract, and he appears to want to earn every bit of it.
