A young boy was stabbed in the head and leg in the latest knife crime attack in Birmingham today.

The victim, 12, was knifed around 3.10pm on Saturday in Elm Drive, Great Barr and is among the youngest to be attacked in a wave of violence in the city.

The boy’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

West Midlands Police has launched an investigation into the attack.

One local resident urged parents to keep their children away from the ‘Black Path’ area between Great Barr and Yew Tree.

They said: ‘Parents around Great Barr/Yew Tree please tell your kids to stay away from black path area near q3 as there has just been a child stabbed !!! It’s getting worse everywhere.’

No arrests have been made.
