Conor Benn keeps up unbeaten record with comfortable points win over Josef Zahradnik
CONOR BENN kept up his unbeaten record with a comfortable points win over the plucky Josef Zahradnik.
The 22-year-old – son of Brit legend Nigel – showed off his blistering speed and skill, taking the scorecards 80-71.
Been – who returned after a nine-month lay-off after a hand injury – started well, landing crisp jabs to the head and body.
He put Zahradnik down in the seventh with a thunderous body shot, but could not finish him off despite a barrage of punches.
Benn took his record to 14-0 with the vicrory and is now looking to fight British Welterweight Champion Chris Jenskins in the future.
He said: “I had a good training camp and the right hand felt really, really good.
“I fight with my heart on my sleeve and give it everything I’ve got. I hit him with the jab really hard.
“I’ve not seen much of Chris Jenskins but I’m definitely looking at the British title.”
