Rojo lucky to dodge red after flying in on Higuain and Willian as Man Utd draw with Chelsea
MARCOS ROJO was extremely fortunate to escape a red card after a brutal double foul on Gonzalo Higuain and Willian.
The Argentine defender was summoned from the bench for Manchester United during their 1-1 Premier League draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Eric Bailly picked up an injury in the second half and Rojo was called on to shore up the Red Devils’ backline.
However, the centre-half was lucky to stay on the pitch after going in hard on Higuain from behind.
Seconds later, after Rojo had picked himself up off the floor, he lunged at Willian – catching the winger high on the ankle.
Rojo somehow escaped with just a yellow card for his antics.
And supporters were up in arms on Twitter, with many blasting the ref for not producing a straight red.
One said: “Disgusting tackle by Rojo. Red card all day long.”
Another wrote: “Omg that should be a red card for Rojo.”
