Boeing 767 with ‘engine on fire’ makes emergency landing with fire crews on standby at South African airport
THE ENGINE of a Boeing 767 passenger plane is reportedly on fire and made an emergency landing in South Africa.
Fire crews are currently on standby at Tambo Airport, near Johannesburg.
The Air Zimbabwe plane landed safely after returning back to Tambo this evening, it’s claimed.
It was due to land at Harare Airport in Zimbabwe at 8:41pm local time.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a bird strike, according to flight monitoring sites.
