General Chat • Nothing To Fear
Today we weren't at our best but we did end Villa's ten game winning run and i think a draw was a fair result tbh.
Had a quick look at a mini playoff league and i feel very hopeful
So if the potential playoff teams had a mini league this season this is how it would look (I've included Bristol City because they can still make the playoffs), haven't done goal difference because i did this quickly.
Leeds p10 W6 D3 L1 21 points.
Villa p10 W5 D3 L2 18 points
Boro p10 W3 D4 L3 13points
WBA p9 W3 D1 L5 10points
Derby P9 W2 D3 L4 9points
Bristol City p10 W2 D2 L6 8points
WBA and Derby still have to play each other.
So a few things to give hope.
We are as the Championship table shows the best side out of the bunch.
Aside from Boro we have beaten all of them on aggregate over the 2 games.
Aside from WBA we didnt deserve or look like losing in any of the games.
We have been clearly the better side overall vs Bristol City, Derby, Villa at Villa park and WBA at Elland Road.
We know we can beat all of them apart from Boro who atm may not even make the playoffs anyway.
Teams have to win games in the playoffs, every team will have to come out and compete against us at some point. Its no coincidence that generally once we go ahead we win, it forces teams to come out and spaces then appear.
So all in all i think we should be feeling very optimistic and so should the players, yes we threw away autos by being poor vs weaker teams, but against the stronger ones we are the team to beat.
