The average man needs around 2,500 calories a day and Jon’s “all day” roll is unlikely to have contained more than 500 calories.
The 42-year-old mental health worker bought the ciabatta at his local store in Truro, Cornwall, on Thursday.
He posted on Tesco’s community page the same: “All day breakfast in ciabatta with half a sausage and hardly anything else.
“£2.75 – you having a laugh?”
TESCO’S RESPONSE
Tesco were quick to respond to the post online, writing: “I’m sorry you are disappointed with the all day breakfast you purchased.
“I’d like to log this to feed back to the Cafe Manager.”
Speaking today, Jon explained how he “couldn’t believe” what he had bought.
He said: “I was running late so wanted to grab a bite to eat as I can’t leave the building.
“I was walking through Tesco in Truro seeing what took my fancy when I saw the hot food counter and they were putting out fresh all-day breakfasts.
“Once I got to work, I took a bite and all I got was bun.
“I couldn’t believe it but also had a chuckle to myself.”
OTHER ISSUES
Unappetising food from Tesco cafes nationwide have gone viral already this year.
In January, eggs Benedict which was described as a “monstrosity” served up by the café in Wigan racked up more than 17,000 likes.
Hesketh Thomas paid £5 for two congealed poached eggs on top of processed ham which had English muffins apparently buried underneath.
When asked if the meal was actually on the menu she said: “Alarm bells were ringing when they said they didn’t know if they still make them, but yes on their menu at £5.”

Tesco has been contacted for comment.
