[Baseball] Cuomo Named AAC Pitcher of the Week for a Second Time

DAYTON, Tenn. – On Monday, the league released the 10th and final edition of the Appalachian Athletic Conference weekly awards for baseball, and representing the 23rd-ranked Bryan College squad for the second time this season is Joseph Cuomo (SO/Canton, Ga.), a sophomore from Canton, Georgia. The right-handed hurler was recognized for his efforts from April 22-27 where he helped the Lions complete a remarkable finish to regular-season play. During the course of the last week, Bryan went 5-1 with a big series win over Bluefield College (Va.) and a sweep of Montreat College (N.C.), capping the month at 13-2. The extraordinary display through April allowed the Lions to surge past 18th-ranked Truett McConnell University (Ga.) (18-9 AAC, 28-17) and secure the No. 2 spot in the conference standings and the second seed heading into this week's AAC baseball tournament. Bryan rallied for a 19-8 mark in conference play while going 35-13 overall.
