Verhofstadt hints at plan to transform EU into 'EMPIRE' in pitch to become Commission boss

EUROPHILE Guy Verhofstadt hinted he would fight to create a European "Empire" if he was elected as the new European Commission President, to counteract China, Russia and US "domination" in the future.
