[Tennis] Thrasher, Ryan, and Hipp Earn All-KCAC Tennis Honors

WICHITA, Kan. - The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2019 All-Conference awards for women's tennis. Student-athletes were selected for all awards by vote of the KCAC head women's tennis coaches. 

Sterling had three women's tennis players make the list: Maddie Thrasher (SO/Sterling, Kan.), Janae Ryan (SO/Claflin, Kan.), and Keeley Hipp (SO/Claflin, Kan.). The Women's team also reached the quarterfinals of the KCAC Women's Tennis Championship this season.

Southwestern head coach Jason Speegle was voted Coach of the Year by his peers, following a season where his team posted a 9-0 conference record en route to a KCAC regular season title. Builder freshman, Emilia Schorghuber was named the 2019 KCAC Freshman of the Year. 

McPherson's Brittany Zipf was named Player of the Year, while teammate Zoe Bouwmeester earned 2019 Scholar Athlete of the Year. Gabby Arias of Ottawa was named Newcomer of the Year, and Tabor's Naima Mexsen earned the Sportsmanship Award for the 2019 season. 

Conference tennis coaches selected the following athletes as either first team, second team, or honorable mention All-KCAC:
