100 firefighters battle blaze at London hotel spa
Around 100 firefighters have been trying to bring a fire at a London hotel spa under control.
Half of the roof of the building, in west London’s Richmond Hill, was alight, London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.
Images on social media show clouds of smoke and several emergency vehicles lining nearby roads.
Station manager Mike Cotton said: ‘Crews are working hard in challenging conditions to bring the fire under control.
‘The fire is in an annex building and has been producing a lot of smoke. We would urge residents and businesses in the immediate area to keep windows and doors closed while we continue to tackle the fire.’
There looks to be a huge #fire somewhere on #RichmondHill or possibly #RichmondPark. Smoke blowing across the Thames and into #EastTwickenham, #Richmond. My thoughts go out to those affected by it. @LBRUT @LondonFire @richmondsociety @MPSRoyal_Parks @theroyalparks pic.twitter.com/gKsAzaLV34
