Gilead's CFO, appointed to Google parent's board, to retire
Gilead Sciences Inc. said late Tuesday Chief Financial Officer Robin Washington plans to retire in March 2020. Washington will continue as CFO while the company searches for a replacement, Gilead said. If Gilead names a CFO before March 2020, Washington has agreed to remain as an adviser through the reporting of 2019 financial results "to ensure a smooth transition," the company said. Alphabet Inc. said Tuesday it had appointed Washington to its board as former Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt and former Google Cloud Chief Executive Diane Green are not seeking re-election to the the Google parent's board.
