[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis Earns First Round Bye at NAIA National Championship

MARION, Ind. – The NAIA Women’s Tennis National Championship bracket was released on Tuesday by the NAIA national office. Indiana Wesleyan University was seeded No. 8 in the 24-team bracket and earned a First Round bye.
Indiana Wesleyan plays their first match of the tournament in the Round of 16 on May 15. IWU plays the winner of No. 9 Brenau (Ga.) and No. 24 Hastings (Neb.).
The Wildcats make an NAIA National Championship record 20th appearance. IWU is the only program to reach the national tournament every year since the inception of team play in 2000. The Wildcats are 30-6 on the season and earned an automatic bid as Crossroads League champions.
The 24-team national tournament runs May 14-18 in Mobile, Alabama. Sixteen teams play First Round matches on Tuesday, May 14 and eight teams received First Round byes. The national championship match will be played at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.
