Liberal candidate Jeremy Hearn disendorsed over anti-Muslim slur
Liberal candidate for Isaacs Jeremy Hearn will reportedly be disendorsed by his party for anti-Muslim comments he posted on social media last year. In a now deleted social media post, Mr Hearn described Muslims as people of ‘bad character who should not be given Australian citizenship’ and said all Muslims subscribe to an ideology of killing or enslaving Australians if they do not convert to Islam. The Liberal candidate in Melbourne’s southeast went on to say that Muslims were trying to overthrow Australia’s political and legal systems and replace them with Sharia Law. The Liberal Party is expected to drop Mr Hearn as a candidate on Wednesday, derailing the Prime Minster’s campaign in Perth.
