Vince Carter announced that he will return for a 22nd season and NBA fans loved it
Vince Carter announced Tuesday that he wants to return for an incredible 22nd season in the NBA next season.
Which is just insane. But totally awesome at the same time.
This means the 42-year-old will play in four decades – 90s, 00s, 10s, 20s, which is also insane.
Bleacher Report has some details:
Vince Carter announced his intentions to return for a 22nd NBA season on the latest episode of the Winging It podcast, (h/t the Atlanta Journal-Constitution‘s Chris Vivlamore): “I’m coming back.”
After signing a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks last summer, he can explore his options this offseason. A return to Atlanta is under consideration, though.
“I would like to,” Carter added. “We’ll see what happens.”
Carter appeared in 76 games last year with the Hawks and averaged 7.4 points in 17.5 minutes per game. The 2000 Slam Dunk champ showed a few times last season that he can still fly through the air and throw down impressive dunks, which were always great to see.
NBA media and fans reacted to his announcement with awe… and some jokes:
