mtb mavid rims and deore LX hubs good quality?

I found a Nakamura (made in Taiwan) bike with all 8 speed Deore XT (which is like 2nd highest groupset from Shimano) but the wheels have these mavic 26 wheels mated to Shimano Deore LX hubs. Are these worth sending to the bikeshop to fine tune and or replace broken spokes? I am looking at a minimum of $60 for this service but I got the whole bike for $75.
