A few hundred mostly young people jointly ate bananas outside Warsaw’s top national gallery Monday to protest what they called censorship. Authorities had removed artwork there featuring the fruit, saying it was improper. Artists and opposition politicians called for the protest as part of their Facebook and Twitter action to ridicule the ban by posting photos of themselves eating bananas.
